Sell My Coins!

How The Process Works

In order for us to help you, we need to better understand the nature of your collection. We realize that you may have many more coins that you are able to look up. We can still help you!

Is it an "accumulation" of coins gathered that someone special set aside, or is it an organized "collection" of coins containing various coin albums with coins inserted into holes to fill a date and mint mark set? Are the coins mostly worn? Or, do the coins look brand new as if they were struck yesterday? Are your coins typically of lower denominations, like pennies and nickels, or are they primarily of higher denominations like $5 to $100 gold pieces? Do you have older mint packaged products like proof and mint sets prior to 1950, or are they mostly post 1950? These are just some of the questions we need to ask in order to better understand the nature and potential value of your coins. In reality, detailed questions are best answered by telephone.

Naturally, if you can communicate what you have using our free appraisemycoins.com value estimator, we would need to substantiate the accuracy of your grading. Values of coins are highly dependent on grading. Problem coins, those that have been cleaned, have scratches, rim dents, discoloration etc.., are valued lower than nice, original problem-free coins. Once we look at your coin (s), we can provide a more accurate assessment of what they are worth.

A. If your collection is valued at less than $25,000, based on the appraisemycoins.com estimation, or our conversation with you, you can simply send them it to us via US Postal Service "registered, insured" (Flat Rate Mailers from the Post Office are usually the least expensive) to:

AMC C

P.O. Box C

Ironia, NJ 07845

  1. Please include your name, address and telephone number and an inventory of what you are sending. We will call or eMail you with our appraisal of your collection. You are free to accept our estimate at which time we will mail a check to you, or you can request a return of your collection. We will mail the collection back to you the same way you sent it. We only ask that you pay for the postal fees in order to return your collection.
  2. If your collection is valued in the $25,000 to $100,000 range, we may send a representative of AMC to your location to appraise the collection. If you are in agreement with the estimate and wish to sell your coins at that time, you will be able to conclude the sale by obtaining a check on the spot.
  3. If your collection is valued at $100,000 or more, Dr. Michael S. Fey (click on my name to see my CV) will arrange to fly to your location to meet with you personally to discuss the best ways to sell your collection which may include, giving you a check on the spot, submission of coins for independent grading, and/or submission of coins to auction.
